Join us this weekend! The ladies of Chanteuses are hard at work preparing another wonderful program– this time an all-new Spring Concert. There is all kinds of world music on this concert– including “Kungala!” featuring aboriginal sounds from Down Under.
The program also includes Brahms’ Three Sacred Choruses; Antiphon and Motets for The Ladymass— a work commissioned for the Santa Fe Women’s Ensemble; Esto Les Digo— “Where two or three are gathered in my name, there will I be also”; Guayacanal— from a Spanish heel tapping dance; La Lluvia (“The Rain”)– an Ecuadoran folk melody; Loch Lomond— a Scottish folk song; Rutter’s My True Love Hath My Heart— inspired by legendary jazz pianist George Shearing; There is Sweet Music— a setting of a Tennyson poem; Weep No More— a setting of a Keats poem; and “Three Mountain Ballads”– He’s Gone Away, Will He Remember, and Barbara Allen.
Tickets are $15 in advance (through the website); $20 at the door; Students and seniors are $15; 17 and under are free.
